There’s something magical about a skillet full of golden-seared chicken bathing in a rich, garlicky parmesan cream sauce. This Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken isn’t just a recipe—it’s a love letter to comfort food.

✨ The Story Behind the Dish

This recipe was born on a cozy Sunday evening in my kitchen, the kind of evening where comfort and ease are all you crave. I had a few boneless chicken breasts in the fridge and not much time to fuss over something fancy. But I wanted flavor—real, comforting, soul-warming flavor.

Out came the garlic, a splash of cream, a handful of freshly grated Parmesan, and boom—this dish happened. My kitchen smelled like a little Italian trattoria, and by the time the sauce thickened to a silky dream, I knew this would be a go-to forever.

It’s since become a favorite not just in my home, but with countless friends and readers who tried it once—and never looked back.

Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Optional: Chopped parsley or a handful of baby spinach for color

Directions

    1. Pat chicken dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken breasts for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temp: 165°F). Remove from pan and set aside.

    1. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Melt butter and stir in minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute, just until fragrant (don’t let it brown!).
    2. Add heavy cream, chicken broth, and Italian seasoning. Stir gently and bring to a simmer.

    blank

    1. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Let the sauce simmer for 2–3 minutes to thicken slightly.

    1. Place the chicken breasts back into the skillet and spoon the sauce over each piece. Let them simmer together for 2–3 more minutes to soak up all that flavor.

    blank

    1. Top with chopped parsley or stir in spinach until wilted. Serve immediately with your favorite side—fettuccine, mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted veggies.
