Ingredients
-
2 ahi tuna steaks (1 to 1.5 inches thick)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
- Green onions & sesame seeds for garnish
Directions
Marinate: Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Pour over tuna steaks and let them marinate in the fridge for at least 10 minutesâor overnight for deeper flavor.
Preheat Your Skillet: Use a nonstick or cast iron skillet. Heat it for 3â5 minutes until very hot. This is key for a good sear.
Sear: Remove tuna from marinade (shake off excess). Place in the hot pan and sear each side for 1.5 to 2 minutes. The outside should be golden; the inside still red.
