If you’re looking for an easy meal for dinner but don’t want to give into take out, This Baked FLounder with lemon butter garlic sauce is just what you need! Flounder is a delicious mild and slightly sweet fish, with a soft texture a pairs well with the savory and tangy citrus flavors of garlic and lemon.
Serve this fish with a salad, rice, steamed vegetable such as asparagus. If you have busy weeknights and are limited on time, or just want a meal that is easy to make and delicious as well, this baked flounder with lemon butter garlic sauce will be your new favorite go to meal!
The garlic butter sauce adds a beautiful buttery flavor and the zesty lemon really adds a nice tangy flavor to the dish. The flounder has a nice golden brown crust front he light coating of breadcrumbs making this a light, fresh and flavorful dish that you and your family are sure to love!
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).Rinse the flounder fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
Season both sides of the fillets with salt and pepper to taste.
Place the fillets in a baking dish greased lightly with olive oil.
Drizzle the fillets with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and sprinkle minced garlic over the top.
Lay lemon slices over each fillet.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and easily flakes with a fork.
While the flounder is baking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.
Stir in lemon juice and lemon zest, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
Let the sauce simmer for another minute or two until slightly thickened.
Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in chopped parsley.
